Mamavation Monday-- Where's My Motivation?

Well folks, my motivation is gone. I can't find it. I think I ate it with the paczkies last night. If you can help me find it, that would be wonderful, because I gained 0.2 lbs this week. And after a week of being stagnant on the scale, this is not a good sign.

Because I have to want to help myself, before I can actually receive help. I thought I'd share how I'm going to get back on track. It's something that I've fallen short of doing lately, about the time my motivation went missing, and is an excellent time management too as well. I haven't been getting much done without it either. Because it's no secret, being a mom is tough!

That excellent tool is my To-Do List. And I'm putting it back into effect today!

I learned how to make To-Do lists from Chalene Johnson when I took part in her 30 day challenge . And my life changed dramatically. I was able to see exactly what I needed to do! And knowing exactly what I needed to accomplish that day, gave me the push I needed to get things done.

Every time I was giving myself Twitter Butt, I referred back to my list, and found something that I could be doing instead. My to-do list is my little reminder to make sure I'm using my time effectivly. And of course reminds me of things when I'm suffering from the dreaded mommmy brain.

As a matter of fact, by writing this, I just checked off Mamavation Monday Post on my to-do list! Yahoo!

This post is sponsored by Earth Footwear and I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway.

  1. Being a mom IS tough work!! No doubt about that. No breaks, no time off, no vacations, no PAY! :) Something I personally dealt with for a long time was my lack of motivation. Then I realized something that finally got me over that for GOOD -- motivation and inspiration are two very different things. While motivation may give you the push to get through your day, inspiration is something that stays with you and gets you OVER the obstacles that constantly come up. So find the things that inspire you, and surround yourself with them. Whether it's quotes, pictures, goals, numbers -- whatever it is, put it in your sight, day and night. And whatever is draining your inspiration, remove it. I found that keeping certain sweets in the house was tempting me to eat more, and eating more was NOT inspiring to me. It made me feel guilty and lazy and horrible about myself. So I removed those things. Do what works for YOU, and you can never go wrong! I hope you have a GREAT week ahead!! :)

  3. It's hard to get going when you don't have any motivation. How about using little rewards just until you get into the habit of exercising or eating right? It may sound weird but you have to do what it takes to get yourself going.

  4. I think we all get sucked in to the computer . I have actually had to turn OFf the computer so I could plug IN to my real life to tackle the dreaded to do list (and mt. laundry).

hoping we BOTH find our much needed motivation soon!

  7. The To-Do List is a great idea! Great for combating that dreaded twitter butt... I should really work on a to-do list also.

Yes, as Moms we are busy ladies. I bet with your added movement that .2 lbs will come right off. Keep up your hard work and feel that motivation coming back. You can do it.

  8. Your .2 could just be you approaching your 'time of the month' - don't let it get you down, just change it up! I have hit so many plateaus myself, and sometimes, just a diet change, exercise change, or BOTH got me over it! You can do it!!

  9. You ate paczkies and only gained a little bit? I won a dozen from a local tv station and told them thanks, but no thanks! I want them but ugh, I know I'd end up eating the whole dozen. Keep up with your lists. They help me tons!

  10. I thought I was the only one with a girl crush on Chalene! And I'm praying to God that the .2 was me approaching "that time", and not a fetus, because I'm late. And I'm starting to freak out! I can't be pregnant when my first one isn't even a year old yet! I'm on the pill for pete sake! I need to suck it up and go pee on a stick already!

  11. Ah, the to-do list. I prefer the honey-do list, but after the honeymoon stage Hubs just wasn't in to it. :)
Have fun with your lists this week!

  12. Motivation is something that I have lost since I've been sick!

The to do list is great because it keeps me focused and I'm obsessed with lists hahaha

Have a great week and you will find your motivation again, I promise!

  13. when making your list, do you ever put extra little stuff on there just so you can feel a sense of acomplishment for marking more off? I do... but that could just be me! Jump back up on the motivation wagon girl! here's a tip - you won't find your motivation lurking around behind you - its straight ahead and once you jump back on the wagon, you can catch up tto it! Good luck this week! you are gonna do AWESOME!
